Elliott Heads - Day 3

Spent the morning having breakfast in the sun ☀️ & talking to Rochelle & Nikki.   Today we drove to Burnett Heads & then onto Bundaberg!  On our way Tony spotted a vegetable stand on the side of the road, and as we were in strawberry country, decided to stop & purchase a few things!   Tony was in his element 😜

Burnett Heads had similar beaches to Bargara with nowhere basically to swim but lots of coast line.  Lots of parks, playgrounds & areas for picnics!   Not many shops in the main town either.  We found this giant crab 🦀 in a playground & thought Thor would enjoy seeing it - he loves playing & looking at the crabs at the shack!

Drove over to the Marina & were pleasantly surprised to find a lovely Cafe/Restaurant overlooking the river & the many expensive yachts & cruisers.

Enjoyed lunch & a wine overlooking the Marina 🥂

Looked through a gift shop on the Marina & managed to buy a few things. On to Bundaberg.   Quite a big town but we thought it looked quite tired.   There are quite a few new subdivisions being built on the outskirts though.  We visited the Bundaberg Rum factory which is a must here!

They had tours here as well but a lot of people were just sampling the rum 🍹

We walked around but didn’t try any rum as neither of us drink it but was worth seeing!    Drove around the town & over the bridge - Burnett River is quite large but looked very dirty at the moment which we think maybe from all the floods.

Quick food shop & home for a nice steak on the BBQ with strawberries & cream for dessert!
