1770 Campground - Day 5

Had a FaceTime call from Rochelle this morning so got to talk to the boys - Thor was going to help daddy gyprock 😜 could be an interesting day for them & Koa took his first steps while we were watching (he was hanging on to a table at the time)

On to Andy & Jenny’s to plan our day!   Had to have a coffee while we worked out our plans!   Boys decided on going fishing so that took awhile to get all there rigs ready!   Quick lunch & they were off!

Jenny & I headed off to the beach for a read but think there was more talking than reading (it was me this time 😜) started to get a little cool so back to van for a Coffee ☕️

Boys returned with their catch 🎣

Andy, unfortunately, did the walk of shame home with his rod (not even holding a bucket to make it look like he had a catch 🐠) Tony caught 1 fish (a toadie 🤣)  they had fun trying!

Jenny & Andy, Kaye & Gary were coming for a camp oven meal tonight - Beef Ragout on the fire tonight. We all bought different vegetables, beef, carrots, pumpkin, zucchini, onion, garlic, mushrooms, cans of tomatoes & beef & mushroom ragout mix.   Cooked our usual potatoes in jackets to put the “stew” on!

Supervisor for the night!

Yummy stew on potatoes

The meal was yummy but all agreed a little longer cooking would have been good for the type of meat we had but was still delicious & flavours were good.  All trial & error 🤣

A few drinks while we waited for dinner - lucky we had a platter as well.

Andy couldn’t wait 😬

Waiting for dinner

We seem to have a ritual of Baileys, chocolate & drambuies at the end of the night - think we were the last to go to bed in the park & just as Andy & Jenny were about to leave it started raining so shifted under the awning till the rain stopped ☔️

Sitting under the awning listening to the rain ☔️

1770 Campground -Day 4

Washing morning & a long coffee at the Wilkins Van with Andy & Jenny, Kaye & Gary.   We had plenty of entertainment for about 2 hours while about 10 or more police raided a boat right out the front of our van in the estuary!  They were diving with tanks around the boat, 2 police boats & we think 2 people on board being questioned 😳 they searched every inch of the boat & a dinghy which was floating behind it.    Evidently this boat ran aground on shore a few nights before we got here in the middle of the night & were revving their engines to try & get it off the bank 😬. The police ended up taking 1 person with them & left one on the boat - the mystery thickens but presume a drug raid.   Hopefully we will hear more gossip tomorrow  😜

Andy had the binoculars checking it out & Tony used the zoom on his camera - it was the talk of the park for the day 🤣

A late lunch, Tony & Andy went on a mission to find more fire wood, empty toilets & shop while Jenny & I had a relaxing hour and then got ready for our feast tonight!

Headed over to Jenny’s van tonight for happy hour & dinner.  Kaye & Gary joined us for drinks only tonight!   Andy cooked a beautiful Greek lamb roast (under Tony’s supervision as he hadn’t cooked this before), potatoes, pumpkin cooked in the fire 🔥 bacon & cheese damper for entree & damper with jam & cream for dessert - it was very yummy 😊

Supervising the fire & the damper 🔥

Nibbles & drinks
Damper in the camp oven & our potatoes & pumpkin in the foil 😊

Andy did a great job of cooking our lamb !

Little late finishing tonight - it was too comfy around the fire but finished with a Baileys & chocolate before heading to bed 🍹🍫

1770 Campground - Day 3

Picked Jenny & Kaye up this morning & drove into Agnes Waters - Kaye was having her nails done so Jenny & I decided we would look at the shops in Agnes Waters! There are surprisingly quite a lot of shops here so 2 hours later & still no Kaye we decided to head to the cafe for a coffee (her nails were suppose to take 1 hour 😳)

Another half hour went by & finally a call from Kaye that she was ready to be picked up 🤗 but back to the shops for her to pick up a few supplies - finally home with our pies for a late lunch.

The boys went for a drive around the headland & then for a walk while we were gone.

After our late lunch & Jenny & I headed to the beach with our books while Tony & Andy went for a long paddle - they really enjoyed it but I’m not sure how Andy’s arms will be in the morning 🤣 oh & Tony forgot to put the bung in the kayak so Andy came back wet 😱 not sure yet if it was deliberate or not 😜

Stayed on the beach with our happy hour drinks to watch the sunset which didn’t disappoint!

Back to the van for our fire 🔥 & to cook our steaks & a few more wines 🍷🥂

Don’t know what happened to their drinks 😳

We received the photo below of Thor & Koa yesterday - Thor said they were going to see Nana & Pa 🤣

1770 Campground - Day 2

Lazy morning - sun shining - calm waters & a beautiful view of the water from our our van.

Headed to Andy & Jenny’s van for coffee around 10.30 to plan the day 😜 As it was our friend Kaye’s birthday today, we were trying to decide what we would do to help her celebrate.   Gary wanted to take her to the Tavern for dinner so booked in for 6pm!

After lunch Andy, Jenny & I went for a drive around to Agnes Waters Beach & around the town get their bearings while Tony went standup paddle boarding 🏄

Agne water Beach - beautiful 🏖
With his favourite sister 🤣

A quick food shop before we headed home & the bottle shop for more supplies, Baileys, Gin & Champagne 🥂   Back to the van for a quick coffee & to get ready to go to the Tavern 🎊

Met at Kaye’s for champagne before heading off to the Tavern 🥂

Cheers Kaye 🥂
Had a great night celebrating & the food was fantastic - thought we would have to go back another night 🥂😊

1770 Campground

Interesting, tight spot we had to get out of this morning at Elliott Heads - 2 cars moved for us, lots of advice & manoeuvres to get our van out - it was quite exhausting to say the least!   Pleasant drive after that & only a few hours drive - unfortunately we hit a few road works but didn’t delay us too long!

Finally arrived at 1770 in time to set up camp & have lunch - we aren’t on the beach front but have managed to score a great spot where we have views of the sea.

Friends Kaye & Gary came over to greet us & then Andy & Jenny drove past our site & set up camp 🏕

Decided on an early happy hour before it got too cold - the wind dropped, fire lit & bubbles were open ready to drink 🥂🔥 lots of talking & catching up!

Gary & Kaye went home for dinner but Andy & Jenny joined us for sausages in bread over the fire & a few wines 🥂🍷 think the most I have drunk this trip - they are a bad influence on us 😜🤣

Elliott Heads - Day 4

Sun shining & no wind so over to the beach to watch Tony standup paddle board 🏄

These people were searching for worms 🐛 (they can be a metre in length 😳)Tony is in the background 🏄

There were people fishing, sun baking & reading in the sun.  I managed to get a few photos of Tony upright on the board

Tony is the dot in the water - he did fall off a few times practicing his surfing stand 🏄😜 clothes wet from falling off & clothesline packed away so he had to make do with the car’s bull bar 😜

He couldn’t resist asking this couple how they caught the worms 🐛 (it was quite an art which Tony hasn’t tried yet)

While he was paddling I had a relaxing read in the sun ☀️ Back to the van for lunch & then a few phone calls.   Read for the rest of the afternoon & then a quick tidy up before we leave for 1770 campground tomorrow 🌞🏖🏄🥂

Berri - Home
