Adelaide to Black Point

We were woken Saturday night at the Dunes by a friend of ours about 11.30pm at night to say our lights in the PRADO were on, so Tony hurriedly dressed & went to investigate 😳 we have had this problem before where our break lights won’t go off!   We had just had our battery replaced a few days ago.   Had to disconnect the battery & luckily in the morning the car started.   With much thought we decided to continue on.   Unfortunately while hitching up, the break lights came on again & while I was packing the freezer, the door fell off 😩   Wasn’t sure about continuing on but after some thought kept going.

On to Rochelle’s to say goodbye on the way.   We arrived with a warm greeting from Rochelle, Koa & a tiger 🐯 Thor was so excited to see Nana & Pa’s van.  As we pulled up the van smelt hot & brake lights on again so thought it was time to call the RAA.   He suggested the problem was likely the break controller leading from the car to the caravan.

We had a much needed a coffee ☕️ at Rochelle’s & then left for Jaycar (Tony had the wrong shop) so after stopping there we continued on to Auto Cheap to buy a controller for the brake in case it was needed to be replaced on our trip.  The car park was busy with weekenders but managed to get a park with a bit of manoeuvring 👏🏻😂 finally we have the part & on our way!

Next stop was the side of the road  - the standup board cover was flapping which sounded like someone was stomping on our roof.  Off again to Dublin for a late lunch at the roadhouse but too busy so left & headed to Port Wakefield.   Finally lunch at 2.15 😳  luckily from there it was uneventful & finally arrived at the shack at 3.30. Had a busy afternoon putting kayak on roof,  fixing the freezer door, firewood, camp oven etc all packed. Hopefully we start our holiday with a little more success in the morning. The sunset was amazing at BP & a beautiful night - should have planned to stay a few days 😎
